Well it seems Yahoo! Go has been released and caught me by surprise in a way as I hadn’t heard much about it to be honest. From playing around with it though it’s certainly geared toward competing with Microsoft’s MCE, but to be honest it doesn’t really match it. It lacks many of the features that make MCE a great program and the interface doesn’t feel quite right.
Admittedly they do have some great services that you have access to, most notably Flickr, but that’s a somewhat moot point. Yahoo! will have to pull off something special if this is going to get widespread adoption; with MCE on all/most new media centre computers and having a decent interface combined with plenty of features they certainly have their work cut out for them.
