MacWorld '07 - What we Didn't See

January 14, 2007

This was supposed to be posted days ago but I only just noticed it hadn’t worked!

For all the products that were announced at Macworld (well, all 2 of them) there was a lot that we didn’t see. Most notably there was no news of Leopard and the customary yearly release of iLife was strangely absent.

Of course with 2 new products being released and changing the name of the company (from Apple Computers to… Apple) I can see why they wouldn’t want to dilute the impact these things have made.

osxPersonally, whilst the hardware announcements were certainly impressive I’m much more interested in Leopard, specifically all of those secret features that they didn’t reveal at WWDC last year. Like many others it seemed Macworld would be a perfect time to really showcase Leopards new abilities and hint at a release date since Spring is rapidly approaching.

I’m anticipating a release sometime in April, similar to Tiger and if that’s true (which it almost certainly isn’t) there’s got to surely be another announcement and demo of Leopard at least a month or two before the release date to really show it off.

Whenever it comes out unless there’s something disastrously wrong with it I’ll be upgrading right away!
