Macworld '07 Predictions
January 03, 2007
Macworld ’07 is just around the corner so I thought it was about time to join the rest of the world in predicting what might unveiled at Macworld.
- Leopard, in it’s entirety. All of the “top secret” goodies that weren’t shown at the WWDC and I would expect that to include a new look, possibly unified, but at the very least something to bring some much needed consistency on OSX.
- iLife 07. I like iLife updates and iLife ’06 was excellent so I’ve great expectations for this years update. In particular I think there will more features bolted onto iTunes since it’s clearly aiming to be the do-it-all media application. Hopefully it will handle video a bit better as it still stutters with higher definition video sometimes.
- MacMini updates. I know these are the low end systems but they could do with being upgraded to core 2 cpu’s (that could just be wishful thinking on my part though).
- The codenamed iTV. This is Apples first step into the living room with a device to pull together all of your media for viewing on your TV. Maybe a demo of the product showcasing it’s finalised features and the new Front Row interface. I doubt it will, but I really hope it has recording features.
I don’t think we’ll see the iPhone, despite all of the hype that’s around at the moment. If anything I think we’re more likely to see a refresh of the cinema displays, a larger version (possibly), new pricing and certainly integration of iSight camera’s since they’re bundling them with all the iMacs and notebooks.
