Burn Baby Burn!

June 10, 2007

You’ve no idea how nice it is to be back on the net. We’ve just had a power cut lasting the best part of 10-11 hours. Of course, when it rains it pours so in the process of losing and regaining power, my PC decided to bite the dust and explode.

Well… when I say explode, what I mean is a slight pop followed by the recurring smell of burning and smoke whenever the PSU is plugged in. As far as I can tell I’ve lost everything on my hard drives and the entire system will have to be rebuilt once I have the money. Things is, I’ve been planning on getting a new 20’ or 24’ iMac for quite a while now so I don’t know whether or not to put the PC thing on hold (if I get an insurance pay-out). But then of course there’s the question of whether or not to wait and see if there’s an update to them as when I got this 17’ iMac a year and a half ago, 2 weeks later there was an update. (The change to intel no less)

Sigh… I knew I should’ve bought a UPS after the last power cut a couple of months back bangs head against wall
